Job Description

Job responsibilities: Perform design and analysis of above-ground and below-ground structures and prepare associated drawings. The candidate is expected to be familiar with CAD and BIM platforms such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit and Open Buildings Designer and have experience of managing and supervising development of engineering drawings. Perform duties of a lead engineer on small to medium scale projects. Attend project meetings, interact with clients and coordinate with other project disciplines and other companies involved with the project. Participate in collaborative efforts to detect interferences between various engineering fields, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, signals, etc., and locations of critical structural elements. Utilize knowledge and understanding of engineering design principles to quantify effects of interferences on the capacity of critical structural elements and inform project leadership of the results . Perform Field and Construction inspections and prepare associated reports. Coordinate with clients Provide construction support on various projects designed by the company. Review shop drawings and contractor's RFI during construction phase of the project and interface with construction managers to determine the impacts of varying field conditions and deviations from the original design. Respond to questions posed by construction managers so they can make informed decisions. Participate in proposals and assist proposal leadership in developing scope of work and expected level of effort. Required Qualifications Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering is Required Active PE License Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 5 to 10 years of inspection and design experience Experience working on local, state and federal engineering projects Familiar with finite element analysis software AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit and Open Buildings Designer Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint Able to perform on-call inspections Good writing skills
