We are seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer - PE to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin . This role is ideal for an experienced bridge engineer with deep technical expertise in the design and rehabilitation of highway bridge structures, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record delivering complex transportation projects for DOT and municipal clients. In this role, you'll provide technical leadership on a wide range of bridge infrastructure projects, including major bridge rehabilitation efforts, new bridge design, interstate structures, and complex transportation improvements. You'll serve as a senior technical resource and trusted advisor, helping guide project strategy, design quality, and delivery execution from concept through construction. As an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer, you'll mentor junior staff and play a key role in advancing technical excellence across the bridge practice. This position offers the opportunity to influence important transportation programs throughout Wisconsin while collaborating with Jacobs' national network of bridge and structural experts. Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive structural bridge design experience with a focus on WisDOT projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain via reciprocity
  • Strong knowledge of WisDOT procedures and project standards
  • Demonstrated experience leading bridge design teams, including task assignment, technical guidance, and quality control reviews
  • Proven ability to serve as a technical lead or lead engineer on complex transportation projects
  • Active involvement in project pursuits and proposal development, including scope development, technical approaches, and interview participation
  • Experience coordinating directly with clients, DOTs, and public agencies
  • Proficiency in bridge design software, such as LEAP Concrete/Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, Larsa 4D, MIDAS Civil, and MDX
  • Competency in bridge/highway CADD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, InRoads, Geopak, Open Roads Designer, and Open Bridge Designer
  • Local to Madison, WI Ideally, you'll also have:
  • Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Active professional involvement in local engineering societies
  • Design-Build project experience

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
