This individual will support the design and execution of a wide range of building projects while working alongside experienced structural engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary project teams. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to both large-scale projects and independently manage smaller assignments while continuing to develop technical expertise and project leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop structural construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit. Perform structural analysis and design calculations using both hand calculations and industry-standard engineering software. Assist with the evaluation, documentation, and surveying of existing structures and site conditions. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders throughout the design process. Participate in project team meetings and collaborate across multiple disciplines to ensure successful project delivery. Support the preparation and editing of structural specifications and technical documentation. Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements. Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide technical support during construction. Conduct site observations and prepare detailed field reports documenting project progress and construction conditions. Independently manage the design and documentation of small to mid-sized projects under the guidance of senior engineering leadership. Support Project Engineers and senior staff on larger, more complex projects. Review and check engineering work completed by junior staff and engineers-in-training. Mentor junior engineers and co-op students while promoting technical growth and professional development. Maintain project schedules and support timely completion of design deliverables. Apply sound engineering judgment and technical expertise to solve complex structural challenges. Participate in quality control reviews and uphold high standards of project execution. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor"s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural concentration, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with the ability to obtain registration in additional states as needed. 4-6 years of structural engineering experience within a consulting engineering, architecture/engineering, or building design environment. Strong understanding of structural materials, construction methods, and associated cost considerations. Thorough knowledge of local and national building codes, structural design standards, and industry best practices. Experience utilizing structural analysis and design software. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality, accuracy, and project schedules.
