Structural Engineer Job Description We are seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience, focusing on building design. This role is ideal for professionals ready to transition from task-based work to independent design ownership. The position requires strong experience with steel and concrete structural systems, seismic design exposure, and a solid structural analysis background. Responsibilities Independently design and analyze building structures using steel and concrete systems. Reference and apply building codes effectively in design processes. Conduct structural analyses with minimal supervision. Utilize software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Revit for structural design. Participate in seismic design, preferably with West Coast experience. Manage 2-4 projects or tasks simultaneously while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to achieve project goals. Communicate technical concepts clearly to multidisciplinary teams. Essential Skills 4-6 years of structural engineering experience focused on building design. Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Revit software. Strong experience with steel and concrete structural systems. Exposure to seismic design, with a preference for West Coast experience. Ability to work autonomously and reference building codes independently. Solid structural analysis skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Civil/Structural degree with seismic coursework preferred. Experience with large-scale commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects. Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts. Experience in a multidisciplinary environment. Ability to collaborate effectively with architects and other engineering disciplines.
