Key Responsibilities Design of transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and sometimes clients to complete projects Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes Develop engineers cost estimates Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback Skills, Knowledge and Expertise BS or MS in Civil Engineering Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls 5+ years of experience in structural design Project and / or Client Management experience is preferred Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Proficiency with CADD software (preferably MicroStation or AutoCAD) Proficiency with structural design software (i.e. Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS, etc) DOT project experience is preferred Ability and willingness to assist with inter-disciplinary projects outside of structural design Benefits Excellent compensation package Flexible work schedule Ability to work hybrid work schedule Competitive holiday and paid-time-off programs 401(k) Plan and Match Competitive health, vision and dental insurance premiums Company-furnished life insurance Short and Long-term Disability Parental Leave Variety of voluntary benefit options Employee Assistant Program (EAP) Flexible Spending Account and More #LI-MK1 About HMB Professional Engineers HMB Professional Engineers, LLC. is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm founded and headquartered in Frankfort, KY.
