Job Description

Senior Investigative / Structural Engineer•Atlanta, GA I'm currently working with a highly reputable, established engineering consultancy that is expanding its presence across the Southeast. They are looking to appoint a senior-level engineer to play a key role in building out their investigative engineering offering in the Atlanta market. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team focused on existing structures, delivering work across structural investigation, repair, restoration, and forensic engineering. The Opportunity This role offers a balanced mix of technical design work and hands-on field investigation, supporting projects that involve: Structural repairs and rehabilitation Building and façade assessments Parking structure restoration Non-destructive testing and condition evaluations Forensic investigations and expert witness support You'll work closely with owners, architects, and contractors, helping guide projects from initial investigation through to design, documentation, and construction. Key Responsibilities Lead and contribute to structural investigations and repair design Prepare detailed engineering reports, calculations, and drawings Conduct site assessments and field evaluations Mentor and support junior engineers Attend client meetings and represent projects throughout delivery Support proposal development and fee estimates Oversee QA/QC processes and project standards Assist with project and financial management responsibilities About the Role This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical problem-solving, client interaction, and leadership, with the opportunity to play a visible role in regional growth and team expansion.
A typical week will include:
Engineering analysis and design work Site visits and condition assessments Coordination with multidisciplinary teams Construction administration support Client engagement and relationship development Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited) Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) 6+ years of progressive experience within structural / forensic / restoration engineering Strong understanding of building codes and construction standards Proven ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Preferred Background Experience delivering projects from investigation through construction Strong project management and leadership skills Previous mentoring or team leadership experience Advanced degree (preferred but not essential) Interest in contributing to long-term business growth Working Environment Hybrid working structure Combination of office, site-based, and client-facing work Exposure to a wide range of project types and structural challenges Opportunity for progression into leadership roles Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary between 110k•145k (DOE) with annual review.
