Why This Opportunity Stands Out + Fully remote flexibility (must live in Illinois) + Work on complex, large-scale industrial projects across multiple industries + Join a 70+ year established AEC firm with national reach + Strong exposure to refinery, chemical, F&B, pharma, and industrial environments + Opportunity to lead projects and grow into increased responsibility + Collaborative, multi-discipline engineering environment + Access to advanced structural tools like STAAD and RISA (training supported) What You'll Be Doing You'll play a key role in delivering structural design solutions while collaborating across engineering disciplines: + Perform structural calculations and analysis for industrial projects + Design concrete and steel structures for heavy industrial facilities + Develop structural designs and support drawing coordination with other disciplines + Utilize tools like STAAD or RISA to validate design integrity + Collaborate with multi-discipline teams (mechanical, electrical, piping, etc.) + Support project execution from concept through completion + Assist with field verification and site support when needed + Communicate design solutions and project updates to internal teams and clients + Contribute to efficient, safe, and technically sound engineering solutions What You Bring + ~5+ years of experience in structural design for industrial projects + Strong experience designing concrete and steel structures + Proficiency with AutoCAD for structural design + Experience performing structural calculations and analysis + Familiarity with STAAD or RISA (or willingness to learn) + Background working in industrial environments (refinery, chemical, or similar) + Ability to manage project scope and collaborate within multi-discipline teams Nice to Have + EIT, PE, or SE certification (or progress toward licensure) + Experience with Revit for structural coordination + Exposure to dynamic structural design or complex industrial equipment layouts Project & Team Environment + Work across refineries, chemical plants, agriculture, F&B, and pharmaceutical facilities + Highly collaborative team with strong cross-functional engineering support + Minimal travel (occasional site visits if desired) + Backed by a well-established AEC firm with 8 offices nationwide Why Join This Team You'll be part of a team where your technical contributions matter, your ideas are heard, and your growth is supported. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $67.31/hr.
