The ideal candidate will have the expertise or an interest in furthering their career focus on planning, engineering design, and the construction of transportation infrastructure for public agencies. The successful candidate will prepare and review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates related to a variety of transportation projects. Project Engineers also mentor and supervise the work of technical support personnel assigned to the project. Location This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from any of our Kansas/Missouri offices. This includes Kansas City, KS, Topeka, KS, Wichita, KS, Manhattan, KS, Lenexa, KS, or Kansas City, MO. The Impact You Will Have Developing detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design Collaborating with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and outputs to develop applications Compiling and coordinating plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items Supporting studies and alternative analysis to determine best solutions to meet compliance and client goals Working with various disciplines and reviewers to ensure complete, accurate, and high-quality deliverables Contribute to proposal development Managing small projects, project tasks, and assisting Project Managers in overall large project delivery Manage and maintain project documentation What You Will Need Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higher, is required Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects Ability to communicate effectively Ability to develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner Experience working with Local and State public agency clients (Public Works, DOTs, etc.) Proficient with ORD design software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Kansas and/or Missouri Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain upon hire (preferred) Project experience in transportation engineering design (preferred) #LI-OS1 Why Benesch It's simple.
