Job Description

The world needs innovators and problem solvers who turn challenges into greater opportunities especially on tunneling projects. By joining us as a Tunnel Structures Lead you'll work on planning, design and construction of tunnels and other underground structures. This opportunity can work out of most of our East Coast locations in our hybrid working environment.
What You'll Do:
Leading feasibility studies, preliminary design or detailed design for major underground projects, including structural analysis of underground structures and engineering support during construction. Serving in a design management role for underground projects and providing support to teams across the US as required. Supporting national pursuits through the provision of technical input on tunneling and underground structures. Oversee the planning and execution of complex structural designs of tunnels and underground structures Be a mentor to junior staff Manage 2 to 4 structural engineers to produce design deliverables and oversee quality of work. Managing and developing client relationships. Establish a network within Jacobs global tunnel and ground engineering team to be able to leverage Jacobs resources to deliver projects. Exhibit a high degree of oral and written communication skills and participate in interviews and presentations as required. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, post graduate degree is preferred Professional Engineering (PE) license At least 10 years of direct relevant experience of design and management of underground structures. Demonstrable project management or design management experience for major underground projects in the transportation and/or water markets. Familiarity with design and construction of tunnels and caverns by TBM, drill and blast and
SEM / NATM
methods. Familiarity with design and construction of other underground structures including shafts and cut and cover structures. Ability to lead teams in underground structure design and analysis. Excellent analytical and technical writing skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to accommodate occasional travel for assignments.
