Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Building Engineer to oversee the maintenance, operation, and safety of our facility located in North Charleston, SC. This vital role involves ensuring all building systems function efficiently, adhering to safety standards, and supporting a comfortable environment for occupants. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance. As a Building Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our infrastructure while providing exceptional service to tenants and stakeholders. 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience HVAC general maintenance experience and troubleshooting experience HVAC controls experience strongly recommended Organizational skills, excellent customer service mindset, project management and tracking skills Electrical troubleshooting skills Capacity to maintain a high degree of focus Experience with preventative maintenance programs Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to work safely from a variety of heights, provide personal hand tools, stand for the duration of the Shift, bend, stoop, crouch, and lift 50 pounds Assist with emergency breakdown repairs Install and relocate equipment Run computer cables and wiring as required to meet facility needs Read, understand, and utilize technical manuals, electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, and written instructions to perform intermediate to advanced-level maintenance Draw from technical support sites, customer contacts, and internet troubleshooting resources to aid in the repair of equipment Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment Operate hand and power tools to complete general carpentry tasks Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on facility safety systems (sprinkler, generator, etc.) Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus (transformers, motors, relays, switches, photo eyes, sensors, and circuit boards), replace electric motor bearings, and rewire motors Perform customary predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks in support of the company's preventive maintenance program Support company inspection and testing programs, including fire and security systems, backup generators, etc. Communication both in writing, text and over the phone are essential
Pay Scale:
$26-$36 hourly position and based on experience. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week; 4 hours per day and open to shift start/end that fits your schedule but would need to be between 7AM-5PM.
