Job Description

The Department of Engineering Management & Technology (EMT) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor Level in Construction Management. The successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in related engineering, construction management, or a closely related field from an accredited program, giving him/her the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the commercial construction curriculum. Examples of areas of instruction are Estimating, Scheduling, Documents, Structures, BIM, MEP, etc. Individuals with prior commercial or research experience in construction are highly encouraged to apply. Applicants who are "all but dissertation" (ABD) will be considered for faculty positions at UTC; however, the degree must be awarded before January 1, 2026. Applicants should be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction, and have a commitment to undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activities. This position also requires establishing working relationships with the local construction industry for education, training, and project activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students, are desired. accredited B.S. degree in Engineering Technology Management with concentrations in Engineering Management and Construction Management, a B.A.S. degree in Mechatronics, and an M.S. degree in Engineering Management with a concentration in Construction.
