Common responsibilities include:
Reviewing structural and architectural drawings Coordinating with fabricators, detailers, architects, and contractors Managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders Tracking schedules, procurement, and material deliveries Ensuring compliance with building codes and PEMB manufacturer standards Supporting estimating and project management teams Coordinating erection sequencing and field issues Using software like Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or ERP/project systems Typical PEMB project types: Warehouses Manufacturing plants Distribution centers Aircraft hangars Retail/commercial buildings Agricultural buildings Skills employers usually want: Structural steel or PEMB experience Reading erection/shop drawings Knowledge of steel connections and foundations Project scheduling and coordination Communication with vendors and field crews Engineering degree or construction management background Common PEMB companies: Nucor Building Systems Butler Manufacturing Kirby Building Systems Varco Pruden Buildings BlueScope Buildings Typical salary range in the U.S.: $35
