Full Job Description Senior Structural Engineer Location:
Austin, TX (On-site first 3 weeks, then Hybrid)
Duration:
12-16
Month Contract Pay and Benefits:
Competitive ($65-80/hr), based on experience, medical, dental, 401k, etc
Overview:
Join a high-impact engineering project supporting the design and construction of complex industrial facilities. This role plays a critical part in delivering technically advanced infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform structural analysis and design for concrete and steel systems, including foundations for specialized equipment Develop structural calculations supporting vibration isolation and dynamic performance Conduct advanced finite element modeling (FEM) for dynamic loads, thermal expansion, and vibration transfer Apply sound engineering judgment to make technical decisions and assumptions Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations, drawings, and specifications Support all phases of project delivery—from early planning through construction administration Present design options, trade-offs, and risk assessments to stakeholders Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, piping/process, and architectural) Ideal background Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET accredited) 8+ years of structural engineering experience Must have structural design experience with Chip fabrication facilities including design for vibration sensitive equipment (VC-D/E) Experience supporting large-scale industrial or complex infrastructure projects Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (any US state) Strong knowledge of
IBC, ASCE 7, ACI
318, AISC, and related standards Experience with Revit Structural and coordination tools (Navisworks or similar) Strong communication, problem-solving, and independent thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Structural Engineering Experience with high-tech, manufacturing, or industrial facilities Structural Engineer (SE) license
