Position Overview:
We are looking for a Stress Engineer (Weight) to support our expanding aerospace engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing aircraft weight distribution to ensure structural integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This position will work closely with the Stress Engineering Lead in support of a freighter conversion program. Key Responsibilities Perform aircraft weight calculations, analysis, and estimations for engineering programs. Evaluate weight distribution and assess impacts on aircraft structure and performance. Prepare and maintain detailed weight reports and related documentation. Develop aircraft loading configurations and center-of-gravity envelopes. Create and update weight and balance manual supplements. Support development and maintenance of weight tracking and management systems. Coordinate and oversee aircraft weighing activities. Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to improve weight efficiency. Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct weight-related testing, analysis, and simulations. Identify and resolve weight and balance issues throughout the project lifecycle. Support initiatives focused on weight reduction strategies and material optimization. Review and validate supplier and contractor weight data. Assist with flight test support activities including ballast planning, fuel loading requirements, CG tracking, and load sheet preparation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Professional certification in weight engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Experience using weight and balance management tools and software. Detail-oriented with strong technical documentation skills. Prior experience in aerospace or related engineering industries preferred. Familiarity with aircraft weight analysis methods and engineering best practices. Understanding of industry standards, certification requirements, and regulatory compliance. Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced engineering environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
