About the Role We are seeking a Civil Engineer with strong municipal experience to join our Port Arthur office. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in both the technical and management aspects of engineering projects. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing and managing water, wastewater, roads, drainage, and land development projects, while coordinating with agencies, contractors, and clients to ensure success from initial feasibility through construction completion. Key Responsibilities Manage projects from preliminary and feasibility engineering studies through construction close-out. Develop grading, drainage, paving, and utility designs using Civil 3D and related software. Prepare and oversee bid documents, specifications, RFIs, change orders, and construction observation reports. Coordinate with local and state review agencies (City, County, TCEQ, TxDOT) to secure permits and approvals. Maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, utility companies, and stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering required. P.E. license in Texas preferred (or ability to obtain within two years). Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in civil engineering focused on municipal public works, drainage, or land development experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (Infoworks ICM, HEC-type software) preferred. Strong knowledge of permitting processes, local codes, TxDOT, and TCEQ regulations. Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. Why Join AWC?
