POSITION OVERVIEW
The Civil Engineer provides comprehensive support across a wide range of construction and public works projects by drafting and preparing detailed plans, conducting cost estimation, and performing critical evaluations such as risk assessments, quality control reviews, site inspections, and code compliance checks. This role requires a degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program and either a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or a combination of qualifying education and at least ten years of engineering, project management, construction, or related experience. Candidates must show proof of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and qualification as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT), along with demonstrated experience supporting complex civil projects involving infrastructure such as water systems, sewage, and roadways. The position also requires proven ability in evaluating technical issues, researching and applying relevant codes, managing construction contracts, and performing cost control and man‑hour analyses. Proficiency in plan drafting using AutoDesk products, specification writing using tools like SpecsIntact, and cost estimation software such as RSMeans or E4Clicks is expected, in addition to strong skills in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be degreed in Engineering by a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and either licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.), by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico, or provide an adequate combination of Education and Experience of the following: Hold a degree in Engineering, or related field, and must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering, project management, construction, or related field. Must show evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination and are qualified as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT). Must have history evaluating complex and varied projects that represent the full range of construction and public works projects, e.g. water, sewage, roads, and providing professional engineering support to key partners. Work history must include; evidence of code research, analysis, interpretation, application of engineering concepts to technical issues and facilities improvements, experience managing construction contracts, cost control and manhour evaluations, risk assessment, quality control, site inspections, and code compliance. Proficient in; drafting and the preparation of plans, preferably using AutoDesk products such as AutoCad, specification writing, preferably using SpecsIntact or other similar applications, and cost estimation, preferably using software such as RSMeans or E4Clicks. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe products such as Acrobat.
