Job Description

Ward Engineering Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys leading projects from concept through construction while working closely with clients, municipalities, engineers, surveyors, and design staff. We are looking for a candidate who combines strong technical expertise with leadership, communication, and project management skills to help deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a variety of projects, including site development, municipal infrastructure, and water resources. Responsibilities Work independently while coordinating and directing the design process for site development, water resources, and municipal engineering projects Manage civil engineering projects from planning and design through permitting, construction, and completion Prepare and oversee the design of grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and site development plans Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and internal project teams Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines Review plans, calculations, reports, and specifications for accuracy and quality control Assist with permitting, agency coordination, and regulatory compliance Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to engineering and drafting staff Practice problem-solving and conflict resolution throughout project delivery Attend client meetings, site visits, and project coordination meetings as needed Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required Professional Engineer (PE) license required Minimum 8+ years of experience in civil engineering, site development, or land development engineering required. Experience in municipal engineering and public project delivery is desired but not required Experience in water resources engineering is desired but not required Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software required Project management or project engineer experience preferred Strong understanding of site development, infrastructure design, permitting, and construction practices Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively Strong writing, client relationship, and business development skills are highly valued Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications Health and Dental Retirement plan Paid holidays Paid time off

$35.00 - $50.00 per hour
