Alexandria, VA Job Details Full-time From $75,000 a year 14 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Referral program Retirement plan Qualifications Microsoft Word CAD software Computer operation Supplier management Driver's License Bachelor's degree Underground utilities installation Microsoft Project Full Job Description The Construction Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager, manage all aspects of a project(s) including the safety, quality, organization, planning, scheduling, subcontractor scheduling, and day-to-day issues, in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds Midwest Mole and the customer's expectations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and coordinate project start-up in conjunction with Project Managers, Operation Managers, and Superintendents Properly communicate, coordinate, and schedule subcontractor and supplier responsibilities and work Assist in project schedule maintenance Assist in material procurement, including obtaining quotes, purchase orders, order coordination, etc. Attend progress meetings; prepare and distribute minutes according to standard format and follow-up on action items Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and weekly time reports as required Prepare submittals‐ including engineering calculations and drawings - CAD work Maintain and/or assist in documentation of quality assurance and quality control activities. Assist Project Manager in project close-out Coordinate and resolve engineering or construction problems with superintendents Reviews design drawings, related vendor drawings and installation instructions and studies interference problems. Maintain records of costs and quantity information, evaluates data, and prepares applicable reports as requested by project management utilizing established, standardized automation tools. Assist with cost estimates and reviews project design and engineering bills of materials to ensure their completeness. Assist with field change notices/requests, extra work orders and back charge notices Assist in coordination of vendor material deliveries, storage of materials, expediting and engineering reports related to the schedule Ensure work is in compliance with plans and specifications Maintain record set of Contract Documents on the jobsite Other duties as assigned by Company Management Field observation and documentation Build and maintain sound, trusting relationships with co-workers, owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. Maintain, as effectively as possible, a continuous unbroken flow of equipment, materials, and information to field personnel (i.e. keep the men in the field working). Maintain accurate, coherent, detailed, and reliable job files Review and approve bills and invoices for payment.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel when required Valid Driver's License Proactive, organized, self-starter High level of motivation and strong desire to learn Effective communication skills and ability to successfully interact with all levels of organization Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and meet or beat deadlines Must complete and pass a pre‐employment drug & alcohol screen Excellent computer skills and extensive knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project Ability to read project plans and specifications Working knowledge of CAD Ability to work in a drug‐free environmentEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or other related field Minimum 2 years experience in underground utility and gravity sewer constructionJob Type:
