Full-time Description AS&M has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Digital Image Correlation Structural Testing Engineer to support the Nasa Langley Research Center under the Research, Engineering, and Science Services (RSES) contract. Responsibilities To provide digital image correlation (DIC) measurements for material and structural testing using the Correlated Solutions, Inc. VIC3D software. This work will require interaction with Lead Test Engineers to define the data acquisition test requirements and the design and setup of the DIC data acquisition cameras. Calibration of the DIC system will be performed prior to the start of the test. The acquisition of DIC images will be performed and monitored during the test. The Lead Test Engineer will be immediately informed of any anomalies observed during the test. The processing of the DIC results will be completed within 24 hours of the completion of the test. The Lead Test Engineer may require that the DIC results be presented in spreadsheet, presentation, or written form. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship is required. Current U.S. Driver's License (Real ID required). NASA enforces REAL ID requirements for all visitors and badge holders. Please visit www.dhs.gov/real-id to view a list of compliant documents. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required. Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics is preferred. Must have an understanding of mechanical testing, and mechanics concepts (stress, strain, boundary conditions, etc.). Experience with DIC software setup, optimization (specifically VIC3D), data acquisition, and processing is preferred. Experience with software programs such as Excel is required and experience with Python is preferred. Attendance Regular, on-site, attendance is mandatory (100%). Occasional overtime/work outside the normal schedule may be required (<20%). How to Apply?
