A public water and wastewater utility based is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Land Development division. This role involves managing the technical aspects of development projects throughout their lifecycle from planning and permitting to construction and final approval while coordinating with both internal teams and external parties such as developers consultants landowners contractors and the general public. The successful candidate will help ensure that infrastructure projects meet all engineering and regulatory standards related to public water sewer and reclaimed water systems. Key Responsibilities Review engineering plans for residential commercial and industrial developments to ensure they meet required technical standards and guidelines Analyze and respond to development related referrals from local government agencies coordinating internally to provide consistent and accurate feedback Collaborate with field and inspection personnel to address construction issues and ensure proper implementation of approved designs Conduct technical evaluations including the review of design calculations and engineering documentation Assess construction materials cost estimates performance bonds legal documents such as easements and deeds and project agreements Provide technical guidance and information to the public regarding infrastructure services and development processes Coordinate flow testing and deliver water flow data needed for fire protection planning Ideal Candidate Profile The role requires a detail oriented self motivated professional with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Strong communication and analytical skills are essential along with a commitment to delivering quality engineering outcomes Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred equivalent experience in the field may be accepted in place of a degree Experience in land development project coordination or design and construction of water and sewer infrastructure is highly desirable Certification as an Engineer in Training EIT is a plus but not required Benefits This position offers a competitive salary excellent benefits and a stable work environment that encourages professional growth A flexible hybrid work arrangement may be available after the initial 90 day onboarding period
