The Structural Analyst leads analysis effort of structurally efficient designs for stress and strength requirements, material selection, stiffness requirements, weight optimization, and structural performance. A strong Structural Analyst contributes to the development of mechanical, electromechanical, structures, and weapons systems of Fulcrum products by applying sound engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Skills Perform various stress analyses of metallic and composite structures to determine structural integrity (margins of safety) using classical techniques, finite element models / simulations, and other analysis tools. Utilize finite element analysis and classical hand analysis techniques to determine structural integrity and perform analyses of internal loads, free body diagrams, stresses, and component life as necessary to support structural modifications, systems integration, weapons development, and MRB related activities. Support structural modifications, systems integration, weapons development, reverse engineering of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components, and other material review board (MRB) related activities. Review and create drawings, reports, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Develop structural design criteria consistent with program objectives. Generate and manage finite element models (FEM) used to simulate and verify design concepts and predict mechanical behavior. Provide mechanical design recommendations based on structural design principles and analysis results. Participate in and support various test activities and present documentation of substantiation data to demonstrate compliance with requirements and specifications. Act as the structural engineering point of contact for a project or program and be responsible for reporting progress, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating analysis activities with other entities within the company to achieve success, as requested. Assist with specialized or complex analysis of products or systems involving multiple subject areas.Core Competency:

Develop relationships and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, management, and customers during the development, test, and production phases of technical solutions. Develops solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives. Assist with the training and development of junior engineers.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Ability to operate in a clerical setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. Ability to work in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment, which may include varying temperatures and noise levels.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
General knowledge of aerospace fabrication practices, tolerances, and design standards as it pertains to machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly. General knowledge of aerospace surface treatments and metallurgy. Knowledge of aerospace drafting standards and tolerance stack-up analysis. Detailed mathematical skills, computational skills, and free body diagramming. Experience with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD). Familiarization with finite element analysis (FEA) modelling software such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, PATRAN, and ABAQUS. Experience in structural analysis and airworthiness substantiation. Exceptional comprehension of balancing forces and developing free body diagrams. Experience with DOD and/or FAA program structural and environmental load requirements Solid understanding of static and fatigue analysis techniques. Fundamental understanding of dynamic and damage tolerance analysis techniques. Enjoys challenges and a fast-paced environment. Self-starter, highly motivated, exceptional work ethic. Superior attention to detail, focused, quick learner. Skilled in time management and project management.REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college or university, and three to eight (3-8) years of professional engineering test experience OR a minimum of ten (10) years of professional testing experience without degree.SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
Subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A SECRET, TS, or TS/SCI clearance may be required.BENEFITS 9/80
