Job Description

Construction Project Engineer Coastal Gunite Construction Company, founded in 1983, performs infrastructure rehabilitation work in the Eastern United States. We are hiring a Construction Project Engineer to join our team in the Hampton Roads area! Job Summary Our team is looking for a motivated person to assist the field personnel with the planning and daily oversight of the construction project. The job is located in Norfolk, VA. Duties and Responsibilities Review plans and specifications to thoroughly understand the project scope. Attend on site meetings and daily site visits. Document construction activities including work logs, equipment logs, inspection reports, and other typical construction administrative items. Instruct and guide crews on project work items, repair tasks, and maintenance work. Assist Foreman and Project Manager in mark-up and tracking of work completed. Attend all required site meetings with the client/owner (schedule, safety, coordination, planning, etc.). Record, distribute and track action items resulting from team meetings. Physical Demands - Requires Construction Site Presence Regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Stamina required. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Qualifications Organized and able to work independently Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Microsoft Office capabilities are a must. High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or equivalent a plus. Spanish language speaker, or bi-lingual capabilities a plus. Valid Driver's License. Pay commensurate with experience.
