: Structural Engineer
In this role, you will play a key role in managing the structural engineering-related efforts for the Capex and Non-Capex projects that will sustain or expand the facility infrastructures to meet the organizational goals. You will lead a team of external design professionals, and contractors. You will be responsible for identifying the major structural maintenance projects, developing options and priority lists, presenting to stakeholders, collaborating with the facility operation team, hiring professionals, leading them to complete the projects, and finally handing them over to the operation.
Job Description:
Plan the structural projects (repair or new construction) from the concept phase to the completion phase
Lead and mentor the project team, engineers, and construction professionals, and coordinate with the facility operation team during the planning and construction phase
Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Work with procurement to select, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
Manage the external design team and the contractors
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational guidelines.
Maintain clear and effective communication with the stakeholders, provide regular updates on project status, and address any concerns.
Perform regular project visits throughout the life of the project on an as-needed basis. (this is not just an office Engineer position)
Qualifications:
B.S degree in Civil Engineering (Advanced degree is a plus)
3 to 5 years of experience working in construction (Prior experience in a consulting firm as a design engineer is a plus)
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Interested in working in the office and out in the field
Understanding of the design, construction, permitting and operational requirements.
Expertise in managing repair / upgrade construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure, manage, and inspire a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
Proficiency in creating, managing, and optimizing project budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
Experience in selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies to ensure compliance in all construction activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear project updates.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.
Attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities to anticipate issues and provide solutions.
Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment
Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results.
