Civil Project Engineer Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to lead and deliver land development and site development projects from planning through completion. The role focuses on civil site design, grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP) to ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective projects that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements. This role will primarily focus on Residential Land Development projects. Key Responsibilities Manage and deliver civil engineering projects including land development, grading, drainage, utility design, and SWPPP from concept through completion. Prepare and review civil site design plans, technical calculations, construction details, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Develop and implement SWPPP plans and erosion and sediment control measures; coordinate permitting and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate with clients, contractors, surveyors, permitting agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design and construction issues. Assist with cost estimates, schedules, and progress reports; monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure successful delivery. Mentor junior engineers and technicians, review project deliverables, and maintain quality control and best-practice standards. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; professional engineering (PE) license in Washington or Oregon preferred or ability to obtain. 4+ years of experience in land/site development engineering; experience with land development projects preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil site design, grading, and utility design. Strong knowledge of stormwater management, SWPPP preparation, erosion and sediment control, and drainage design. Familiarity with local and state permitting processes, codes, and regulations related to land development. Excellent technical writing, communication, and client-facing skills; ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
