Job Description

Geotechnical Design EngineerSeattle, WashingtonRole OverviewOur well‑established geotechnical and foundation engineering firm is seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its Seattle office during a particularly active phase of project delivery. This role is well suited for an engineer with a solid field background who is motivated to work technical design, analysis, and early project development, while remaining closely connected to construction realities.

The position is design‑centric and will involve close collaboration with senior and principal engineers, allowing the successful candidate to play a meaningful role in shaping engineering solutions for several projects scheduled to advance into construction this summer.

What the Role InvolvesPerforming geotechnical analyses and contributing to foundation and earth support designsPreparing engineering calculations, design documentation, and technical memorandaSupporting concept development and detailed design phases of active projectsParticipating in internal design reviews with experienced technical leadershipProviding engineering support during construction, informed by prior field experienceWhat the Team Is Looking ForA minimum of 4+ years of relevant field experience in geotechnical or foundation workMaster's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (PhD strongly preferred)Strong understanding of soil behavior, constructability, and subsurface riskAn engineer who enjoys technical problem‑solving and collaborative design workInterest in growing into increased technical responsibility over timeWhy This Role Is Worth Applying ForDirect access to senior and principal engineers on active, real projectsImmediate involvement in projects already kicking off, not long‑term pursuitsA clear opportunity to transition from field execution into high‑impact designExposure to a broad range of geotechnical challenges in the Western RegionA role that is intentionally flexible, allowing growth with the individualThis opportunity is ideal for an engineer at a natural career inflection point-someone ready to leverage their field experience into deeper design involvement while continuing to learn from seasoned technical leaders.
