The Role We're hiring an experienced, licensed Senior Civil Engineer (PE) to join our Civil Engineering leadership team. This is a high-impact role focused on technical oversight, quality control, and project management across our land development portfolio. You'll be the final set of eyes on construction documents, the person who catches what others miss, and the mentor who elevates the team around you. What You'll Do Production & Project Management Lead and oversee civil engineering production staff. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client expectations across multiple concurrent projects. Quality Control & Plan Review Serve as the final technical reviewer for civil construction documents (CDs), grading plans, utility plans, and specifications. Apply your PE stamp with confidence and ensure full compliance with Washington and Idaho regulations and local codes. Technical Risk Management Apply deep expertise in stormwater management, utility design, site grading, and constructability review to identify and mitigate technical risk before it becomes a field problem. Mentorship & Team Development Provide hands-on technical guidance to project managers and EITs. Build team competency through day-to-day mentoring and structured review. Client & Agency Relations Represent Storhaug as a senior technical lead in client meetings and regulatory agency negotiations for complex project approvals. What We're Looking For Education & Licensure B.S. in Civil Engineering (required) Active PE license in Washington State , Idaho license required or obtainable via reciprocity within 6 months Experience & Skills 5+ years of progressive experience in site civil engineering, land development, or consulting Prior experience in a Senior Engineer, QC Lead, or Principal-level capacity Expert-level proficiency in grading, stormwater management, utility design, and site planning AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency for plan review and quality checking Proven ability to manage multiple projects and engineering teams simultaneously Strong technical writing, risk assessment, and client communication skills Compensation & Benefits We built this package to compete for top talent, because this role matters. $120,000 - $150,000 annual salary (based on experience) Health and dental insurance 401(k) with competitive company match Generous PTO and paid holidays Professional development support: CE credits, PE licensure fees, professional dues Flexible schedule with potential hybrid options Location Spokane, WA 99202 — Onsite preferred.
