Vancouver, WA Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $85,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Snacks provided Vision insurance 401(k) matching Retirement plan Qualifications Geotechnical Engineering Civil engineering Schematics CAD Driver's License Bachelor's degree Construction Full Job Description Staff Geotechnical Engineer (Vancouver, WA) Columbia West Engineering, Inc., a Vancouver/Portland-based geotechnical and environmental engineering firm, is seeking staff engineers for both Washington and Oregon offices. A Bachelor's Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering is required. Approximately 2 years of experience and EIT registration is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will be an organized, efficient, punctual and motivated team member with excellent communication skills and multi-tasking ability. Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to:
- Site investigation and exploration;
- preparation of exploration logs, figures, test data, and daily reports;
- Construction monitoring and testing of soil, aggregate, asphalt, shoring, tie-backs, piles, and ground improvements;
- Assist senior design professionals with engineering calculations, preparation of design specifications, and management of construction monitoring projects; and
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and staff members.
