Job Description

Principal Civil Engineer | Woodinville, WA About the Company A well-established Pacific Northwest civil engineering firm with over two decades of land development experience is looking to add a principal-level leader to its team. The firm has built a strong regional reputation across residential, commercial, and public development and operates with a culture that gives senior staff real autonomy, direct client ownership, and a meaningful role in shaping company growth. The Role A senior leadership position combining technical oversight, team development, and active business development. You'll lead projects from concept through construction, manage client relationships, and play a direct role in the firm's long-term growth and profitability. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate design teams across all phases of civil engineering project delivery Oversee project schedules, budgets, QA/QC, and overall performance Drive business development, expand existing client relationships, and develop proposals and project strategies Serve as a senior technical resource across site grading, roadway design, stormwater conveyance and modeling, sewer and water system design, and TESC Oversee permitting strategies and coordinate with agencies throughout project lifecycles Prepare and review reports, specifications, construction drawings, and calculations Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineering staff Support construction phase services including site inspections and coordination Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) 15+ years of progressively responsible engineering and project management experience Land development experience required Washington State PE license (multi-state licensure preferred) High proficiency in Civil 3D and Bluebeam Valid Washington State driver's license Preferred Qualifications Established client relationships in the greater Seattle/Pacific Northwest market Multi-state PE licensure Demonstrated track record in business development and revenue generation Experience mentoring and building high-performing engineering teams Compensation $155,000 to $220,000 depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus 401(k) with employer match, medical/dental/vision, generous PTO, and professional development support Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Senior Transportation Program Manager| Austin
