Description:
Steel bridge fabrication company is looking to hire a Project Engineer with Civil Engineering background. The amazing opportunity to work with a premier bridge building company that has been in business for 100+ years is a one of a kind opportunity. The Project Engineer manages project submittals, including RFIs, shop drawings, and other technical documentation, while supporting project execution in civil/bridge construction or design.
Responsibilities:
Prepare/execute RFIs; analyze/summarize contract docs (plans, specs, scope) Maintain/distribute logs (shop drawings, transmittals, RFIs, designs) Identify/communicate design changes; compile project info sheets Manage submittals, shop drawing reviews/status/issues/revisions, document control Review drawings for conformance to contracts, codes, specs, company standards Monitor fabrication/shipping schedules; coordinate with detailers, production, scheduling, purchasing Assist PM/VP in problem-solving, job sequencing, spec/material confirmation Reports to Senior Project Manager Works with detailers, PMs/coordinators, production, purchasing, estimating, QC Interacts daily with external detailers, customers, subs, vendors Strong planning, communication, quality, reliability Customer satisfaction; pass agency audits
Requirements:
2-6+ years Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred) Experience in civil/bridge projects, including submittal processes Knowledge of construction documents, engineering principles, and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam) Strong organizational and communication skills PE license or EIT certification a plus
