Job Description
Job Title:
Drafter Job Description The drafter will be responsible for completing the initial zoning and code checks, attending meetings with owners and clients, and creating preliminary sketches for budgeting during the pre-design phase. The drafter will document modifications from preliminary sketches for comparison against estimates, set the schedule for drawings and associated hours, and secure consultant quotes for civil, boring, and landscape projects. Additionally, the drafter must effectively represent the company at municipal meetings and, during the construction phase, coordinate with project managers and superintendents. They will also be responsible for submitting and securing building permits, as well as reviewing and approving all shop drawings. Responsibilities Complete initial zoning and code checks. Attend meetings with owners and clients. Create preliminary sketches for budget numbers during the pre-design phase. Document modifications from preliminary sketches for comparison against estimates. Set the schedule of drawings and associated hours for preliminary sketches. Secure consultant quotes for civil, boring, and landscape projects. Represent the company well at municipal meetings. Coordinate with project managers and superintendents during the construction phase. Submit and secure building permits. Review and approve all shop drawings. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR associates degree with experience in Revit. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and architectural drafting of construction documents. Strong understanding of international series codes, planning and zoning ordinances, and the submittal process for construction documents. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to work effectively with clients and construction teams. Familiarity with dental offices or small to mid-sized commercial projects is beneficial. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Jackson, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
