Mead & Hunt is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Greenhouse Gas Reduction (GHGR) group in our West Allis, WI office. This position will typically support GHGR, Food & Beverage, and One Water projects and play a key role in planning, designing, and managing structural engineering tasks while contributing to technically diverse and complex projects.

Responsibilities:

Plan, design, and manage engineering tasks for structural systems, including building foundations and equipment supports. Prepare and update drawings, calculations, and technical documentation. Prepare, analyze, and/or modify reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects. Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects. Prepare and monitor budgets for specific tasks within assigned projects. Serve as a technical resource on assigned projects. Perform quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical & process engineers and project managers. Utilize structural analysis software such as Visual Analysis or RISA. Support both fast-paced food & beverage projects and more complex GHGR & One Water projects. Visit project sites to monitor progress and support construction administration activities. May attend client meetings - days or nights. May mentor and support the technical development of less experienced staff. Other duties as assigned The successful candidate must have a minimum of: Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Structural, or Civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university AND 4 years of relevant experience The preferred candidate will have: Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure Previous industrial experience Experience with Visual Analysis and/or RISA Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong enthusiasm for mentoring and developing junior staff Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Strong organizational skills and attention to detail This role offers exposure to diverse and technically challenging projects, opportunities to serve as a technical expert, increased responsibility in client interaction and project delivery, opportunities to mentor and develop junior staff, and ongoing professional development.
