Job Description

Martin/Martin Wyoming, Inc is looking for an entry-level structural engineer to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Wyoming office. This engineer will work for multiple project managers on a broad range of project types. A typical work week can include engineering calculations, drawing development, site visits, etc. This position allows for interactions with (owners, architects, contractors, etc.) early in your career along with opportunities for marketing activities. Each project presents unique challenges and opportunities to learn and grow as an engineer.? The successful candidate will develop expertise in a broad range of structural engineering. Our locally educated team, all University of Wyoming graduates, provides early career engineers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to learn while working on real projects designed for the unique conditions of the Mountain West. Learn more about Martin/Martin, Wyoming here! Responsibilities Knowledge and use of computer design and graphics software. Completes design calculations for project components. Prepares details. Accomplishes reference research. Familiarizes self with products and construction procedures. Prepares and writes reports. Provides field observation during construction. Assist Project Manager in Construction Administration, including checking of submittals, providing independent field observations. Attends technical training seminars. Studies and applies building code and/or jurisdictional requirements under the supervision of the Project Manager. Checks shop drawings and product submittals. Focuses on design of project components tasks assigned by the Project Manager. Calculates and checks dimensions. Work overtime, when necessary. Has some communication with Clients, other team consultants, and contractors. Provides independent field observation during construction. Learns provisions IBC, ASCE-7, and material-specific codes and how to apply them (Structural only). Completes tasks, as assigned by Project Manager.
