  • Phoenix, AZ 6-month contract We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Technician to support Advanced Power Generation and large-scale infrastructure projects.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on critical site development initiatives, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utility systems. The Senior Engineering Technician will lead design efforts and support the development of high-quality engineering deliverables for complex infrastructure projects. This position requires advanced technical expertise in civil design and the ability to create and modify site development plans using Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler. In addition to technical design responsibilities, the role provides leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other technicians and design professionals to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead civil design activities for site development and infrastructure projects. Develop and review engineering deliverables, drawings, and technical documentation. Establish and communicate design and drafting standards. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project requirements. Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and supporting documentation. Review design inputs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives, design standards, and process enhancements. Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to engineering technicians and designers. Monitor project deliverables to support quality, schedule, and budget objectives. Participate in field support activities and technical problem-solving efforts as needed.
Required Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D. Experience with Bentley MicroStation. Experience with Bentley OpenPlant Modeler. Strong knowledge of civil site design, grading, drainage, and utility systems. Ability to lead technical design efforts and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field required. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Design Technology or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of 11 years of related engineering design or engineering technician experience. Experience supporting power generation, energy, industrial, or large infrastructure projects is highly preferred. Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment screening requirements, including background and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
