Overland Park, KS , Houston, TX, Cary, NC, Chatanooga, TN Ann Arbor, MI 6-month contract We are seeking a Staff Engineering Technician to support complex power generation and infrastructure projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment. This role is ideal for a civil design professional who enjoys working on site development projects and utilizing advanced design technologies to develop high-quality engineering deliverables. The Staff Engineering Technician will support the creation and modification of site development plans, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utility systems. Working under general supervision, this individual will apply engineering design principles and industry best practices using Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of civil design experience, strong proficiency with Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenPlant Modeler, and experience supporting industrial, energy, utility, or large infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while collaborating with engineers and designers to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
Key qualifications include:
  • Minimum 5 years of related engineering design experience
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler
  • Experience with site development, grading, drainage, and utility design
  • Ability to perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and technical documentation
  • Strong communication and coordination skills within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Diploma or Certificate required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred
