Jog Road, WPB 35170 Performs intermediate technical work in the areas of Construction, Roadway, Traffic, and Land Development. May be assigned various intermediate technical duties as determined by the area of assignment and may direct the work of subordinate personnel. Works independently in the technical aspects of work activities such as preparing and processing pay estimates, change orders, and specialized reports. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed during progress and upon completion through reports, conferences, and evaluations of program effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, supplemented by either a certificate of completion for a related vocational training program OR two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60- semester/90- quarter hours) in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Data Processing, or Computer Science; minimum of two (2) years of experience in a design/construction-related field, OR Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of (4) years of experience in a design/construction-related field, OR An unrelated Associate's/Bachelor's Degree; minimum of one (1) year of experience in a design/construction-related field, OR An Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental/Planning or Transportation/Highway/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience using MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Experience using Advantage and e-Permitting (must specify on application) , Experience using Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Experience in construction work (must specify on application) , Experience drafting and composing letters (must specify on application) , and Experience with road construction contracts and Florida Department of Transport (FDOT) Local Agency Program (LAP) (must specify on application) .
