As a Structural Designer, you will play a vital role in the design and documentation of diverse structural systems, collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions. Job Description Structural Designers work directly with Project Engineers and Project Managers to develop technical and design solutions for specific structural engineering projects. As key contributors, Structural Designers assist primarily with the technical development of structural systems and also engage with team coordination and construction documentation. Typical Duties The following duties are representative of what is typically required of Structural Designers. Competency in additional tasks beyond the scope of this list is a valued contribution to both individual professional growth and the overall success of the project team: Assist Project Engineers with the structural design and analysis of building systems. Prepare construction documentation, including structural drawings, diagrams, and details. Perform structural analysis and assist with calculations for building systems. Research and apply relevant building codes, materials, and construction methods. Assist in exploring innovative design solutions, including performance-based seismic design and retrofits. Assist in construction administration tasks such as reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and issuing clarification drawings. Participate in site visits to observe construction and ensure alignment with design specifications.
Knowledge and Experience Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Experience :
1-5 years of experience in structural design preferred.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Revit is required. Familiarity with structural engineering analysis software is preferred. Strong working knowledge of building codes and structural analysis techniques is highly desirable.
Soft Skills :
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Licensure :
EIT certification preferred, with a desire to pursue PE or SE licensure.
