PROJECT ARCHITECT MMA
is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Architect with approximately 8-12 years of professional architectural experience in design-focused practices. This role is ideal for a proven leader who can guide projects from concept through construction, with a focus on design excellence, technical rigor, and teamwork. Our work spans a wide range of project types—from museums to affordable housing to infrastructure to urban design—at both national and international scales. Based in our collaborative Silverlake studio, you will be surrounded by a talented team and immersed in a culture of ideas, models and drawings that bring our projects and processes to life.
Key Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements, both locally and nationally. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, establish priorities, and keep projects moving forward. Advanced proficiency with Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, Rhino, Bluebeam, Enscape and Adobe Suite is required. Additional rendering and visualization software proficiency, as well as experience with Microsoft Project, is a plus. Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with clients. Being licensed is required, preferably in California.
Responsibilities:
Lead interdisciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction, delivering clear, coordinated documentation, and design-driven solutions. Guide the resolution of complex design and technical challenges, balancing architectural intent, technical performance, budget, and constructability. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to advance projects successfully through all phases of design and construction. Support project budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, and overall project financial coordination. Contribute across a broad range of project types including residential, commercial, cultural, educational, and institutional. Support and mentor junior staff while partnering closely with senior leadership to advance the practice.
Salary Range:
$90,000

JOB CAPTAIN MMA
is seeking an energetic, proactive, professional individual to join our team as Job Captain . The ideal candidate will be passionate about design and eager to play a central role in the development and coordination of our projects, moving from early concept design through construction. This role involves close collaboration with the firm's design and project management leadership, and the candidate will participate meaningfully in the design process..
Required Experience and Skills:
4-7 years minimum professional architectural experience after graduation. Internship experience is valued but does not count toward the minimum professional experience required. Demonstrated experience in drawing set development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration is required. Advanced proficiency in common design software including Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Bluebeam and representation tools including Enscape and Adobe Suite are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Experience with consultant coordination and client communication is preferred. Astute attention to detail, highly organized, and able to develop and implement systems to ensure work quality. Model making experience at a range of scales and model types is a plus. Being licensed, or in the process of obtaining a license, is a plus but not a requirement.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the day-to-day project coordinator, working closely with project managers and design leadership to support successful project delivery. Coordinate with project architects and senior technical architects to maintain drawing standards and deliver high-quality drawing sets. Communicate effectively with consultants and clients regarding ongoing projects while tracking deliverables. Produce drawings, models, and other visual materials for design reviews, client presentations, and project meetings.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT MMA
is seeking an experienced and highly organized Executive Assistant to support Michael Maltzan. The Executive Assistant serves as a trusted partner to the Principal, managing a broad range of administrative, and scheduling responsibilities in a fast-paced design environment. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, exercises sound judgment and discretion, and brings a proactive approach to anticipating needs and managing competing priorities.
Responsibilities include:
Managing Michael Maltzan's calendar, travel, and correspondence Coordinating meetings, lectures, and professional commitments Answering and directing phone calls Liaising with clients, institutions, consultants, and collaborators on behalf of the Principal Supporting the preparation of presentations, proposals, and related materials Assisting with expense reporting and general administrative tasks Providing personal assistant support to Michael Maltzan as needed Interfacing with firm staff
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an executive assistant or senior administrative role, preferably within architecture, design, or a related creative field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office management tools Ability to manage multiple tasks with discretion, efficiency, and composure Genuine interest in architecture and the built environment is a plus

ARCHITECTURAL INTERN MMA
is accepting applications for students or recent graduates to join the office as quarterly interns.
Available internship periods are:
Winter (December
  • February) Spring (March
  • May) Summer (June
  • August) Fall (September
  • November) Applicants should clearly indicate in the questionnaire which quarter(s) they are interested in when applying.
Each internship lasts approximately 12 weeks, during which interns will assist project teams with physical modeling (from study models to presentation models), digital modeling, renderings, videos and animations, graphic presentation, and design studies.
Requirements:
