Job Title Building Designer

IV SUMMARY

Responsible for creating structural designs and plans for projects in the building industry by executing the following tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

1. Showcases expertise in building design field 2. Meets project deadlines and budget requirements 3. Execute specific engineering tasks in a team environment following standard practices and guidelines. Check for errors and ensure completion of tasks. a. Responsible for the design, criteria and compliance with building regulations for all projects. b. Utilize experience to help create initial building layouts and structural schematics c. Assist in material cost estimates by leveraging knowledge and experience for project proposals d. Communicate technical details such as building materials and specifications to team members for drafting of project plans and blueprints e. Understand building material requirements and codes for buildings and develop solutions to structural challenges f. Create and convey design details including connections and propose alternative construction methods for building projects g. Conduct structural analysis and design of various building elements and systems h. Develop design criteria with regards to building requirements i. Create detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings using design software j. Generate material lists and estimates for project proposals k. Review supplier documentation for building elements
