Assistant Civil Detailer

Assistant Civil Detailer Onsite | Wallingford, CT (or applicable location) Overview We are seeking an Assistant Civil Detailer to support civil and underground engineering projects by producing detailed CAD drawings and design documentation. This role is fully onsite and will work closely with engineers and project teams to translate technical inputs into accurate, high-quality drawings.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with strong CAD experience, particularly in Civil 3D , who is looking to grow within civil design and drafting. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings based on sketches, notes, and direction from engineers Develop initial design models and layouts for review and modification Apply company and client drafting standards to produce accurate design deliverables Revise and update drawings based on design changes and project feedback Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure design accuracy Assist with a variety of drafting tasks including layout, detailing, and production work across multiple projects Maintain organized project documentation and drawing files Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders as needed Required Qualifications 2-5+ years of CAD/drafting experience (civil or underground projects preferred) Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (Civil 3D required) Experience working with 2D and 3D drawing applications Basic understanding of civil/underground engineering concepts and workflows Ability to produce accurate drawings independently with attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills

Education:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience (Engineering degrees are not required for this role) Preferred Qualifications Experience with additional tools such as MicroStation or Revit Exposure to underground utilities, site design, or infrastructure projects Ability to work across multiple projects and adapt in a fast-paced environment What's in it For You…?
