Senior Engineering Designer Oasis Consulting Services - 3.7 Roswell, GA Job Details 1 hour ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Qualifications Mapping using GIS Landfill design GIS software Full Job Description Oasis Consulting Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Designer to support our growing solid waste and landfill engineering practice. This position will play a key role in the planning, design, modification, and expansion of municipal solid waste landfills and related infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS, along with a strong background in solid waste engineering support and drafting for landfill systems and operational improvements. This individual will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, surveyors, and field personnel to develop high-quality design plans, construction documents, and technical exhibits. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed engineering drawings, construction plans, grading plans, and technical exhibits for landfill and solid waste projects. Develop and modify designs for landfill cells and cell closures, berms and grading systems, slope stability improvements, leachate collection and conveyance systems, landfill gas collection and control systems, and stormwater management systems. Create and maintain Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, corridors, profiles, and pipe networks. Utilize ArcGIS to support mapping, site analysis, spatial data management, and project visualization. Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs comply with regulatory and operational requirements. Assist with preparation of permit drawings, technical reports, and construction documentation. Review and interpret survey data, geotechnical information, and field data for incorporation into design plans. Support construction-phase services including drawing revisions, as-built documentation, and contractor coordination. Maintain drafting standards, CAD templates, and project file organization. Provide technical guidance as needed. Required Qualifications Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Civil Design, or related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in civil/site drafting and design, preferably within the solid waste or environmental engineering industry. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS. Experience supporting landfill design and operations projects. Strong understanding of earthwork and grading, slope stability concepts, leachate collection systems, landfill gas systems, and cell development and closure design. Ability to interpret engineering calculations, specifications, and technical reports. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with municipal solid waste landfill permitting and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with state and federal solid waste regulations. Experience with drone mapping, GPS data integration, or surveying workflows. Knowledge of hydrology/hydraulic modeling or geotechnical coordination. Experience with construction support and field verification. Work Environment Primarily in-office with occasional field/site visits. Some travel to landfill facilities and project sites may be required. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
