We're seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of impactful infrastructure projects across a range of environments. In this role, you will contribute to civil design efforts, perform technical analyses, and prepare engineering documentation to support projects from concept through construction. THE VALUE YOU DELIVER
Technical Support the design and development of civil engineering solutions for infrastructure and site development projects, including shoreline stabilization, drainage systems, and resilient infrastructure improvements. Perform engineering analyses and technical calculations, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, to support project design and evaluation. Assist with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance by preparing and reviewing technical documentation and permit submittals. Conduct engineering assessments related to site conditions, water resources, and environmental constraints to inform project design. Participate in field investigations and data collection activities, including site surveys, topographic mapping, sediment sampling, and water quality monitoring. Analyze and interpret field and survey data to support engineering designs, reports, and project documentation. Utilize engineering software and analytical tools to evaluate project alternatives and support design development. Prepare and contribute to technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports. Support client-facing activities by contributing technical input and assisting with presentations, reports, and project updates. Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, design reports, and other technical analyses. Management Serve as task lead or project manager for civil engineering projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of high-quality work. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior and mid-level engineers, including training, supervision, and performance feedback. Coordinate across disciplines and with regulatory agencies, contractors, and clients to ensure effective project execution. Contribute to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes and enforce compliance with internal standards. Field Work Participate in field activities, including site visits, inspections, and construction observations. Assist with field planning activities such as equipment preparation, logistics coordination, and safety compliance. Document site conditions and assist in evaluating field data to support engineering decisions and project documentation. Other Support proposal preparation, including technical writing, scope development, and cost estimates. Participate in client meetings, project discussions, and internal technical reviews. Contribute to professional development activities and industry engagement. Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Technical Lead.
THE EXPERTISE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline preferred. Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Coastal or Environmental Engineering will be considered with appropriate experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience required; 10 years or more strongly preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months. Demonstrated expertise in coastal engineering design, modeling, and field investigations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present technical reports. Experience with relevant engineering software (e.g., Delft3D, SWAN, CMS, MIKE21, AutoCAD, ArcGIS). Willingness and ability to travel for field work and project needs.
