Your Role b.hills architecture is seeking a highly experienced Director of Design or Senior Architect to step into a leadership role in our Boise ID office. This is a long-term opportunity to lead a small in-house team of Architects and Designers on Large, Upscale Senior Living projects as well as a variety of other project types. As a Director of Design, you will collaborate with the firm Principal to develop beautiful, functional and innovative building and site designs beginning with Conceptual presentations, Schematic Design and Entitlement submittals. Your work ethic and technical knowledge combined with professional business and communication skills will enable you to mentor junior staff, manage client relationships and contribute to firm growth and our reputation as a responsive, top-tier design team. What You Will Do Lead architectural deliverables on projects, working with Principal(s) and project team(s) for all project phases with a focus on Conceptual design through Design Development Provide creative direction to design teams Provide creative direction to design teams Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, in-house staff and consultants to meet overall project objectives Lead in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions Produce graphic presentations, including computer generated 3D renderings Direct design teams on building materials and details during Design Development and Construction Document phases Oversee and participate in submittal and RFI review as necessary to ensure design intent consistency Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs Cultivate design expertise and excellence with the desire to always learn, grow and improve Your Qualifications Licensed / Registered Architect Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program 10+ years of relevant architecture and design experience Computer 3D modeling and drafting (Revit preferred) Full knowledge of architectural principles and practices Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures Experience with the entire project life cycle and design process through Construction Administration Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Excellent written & verbal communication and management skills to include leadership, organization, and client relationship management skills Well-rounded, strategic thinker with an integrated approach to design, management, and technical project resolution Conscientious in your work with attention to detail & accuracy Your Salary / Compensation Base salary for qualified candidates: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00
