Construction Project Intern (part-time/seasonal, $18.00/hour)

The Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational facilities, programs, events, parks and open spaces. Major facilities include three community centers, multiple aquatic facilities and fitness centers, tennis club, two golf clubs, an indoor sports center, nature center, historic farm, and administrative offices.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of Superintendent of Capital Projects & Planning, the Construction Projects Intern will gain professional work experience by providing support on a variety of ongoing construction projects and design at The Schaumburg Park District.

LOCATION

This position is located at Schaumburg Park District's Jerry Handlon Administration Building (235 E. Beech Drive, Schaumburg, IL).

QUALIFICATIONS

The best applicants are those pursuing a degree in architecture, construction management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and/or REVIT , a passion for the construction industry, and drafting/drawing skills. Strong architectural design skills and communication skills are preferred but not required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license to do occasional site visits. To be considered for this internship, your application must include contact information for your internship advisor, two (2) separate professional references, the top three (3) goals you would like to accomplish during your internship, and the ability to submit a copy of your transcripts upon request.

SCHEDULING & PAY

: This is a seasonal position paying $18.00 per hour. Schedule is generally Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; however, we are flexible to work around summer school schedules.
