This position requires strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both office staff and field personnel to ensure successful project delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct field verification of existing conditions, including site measurements, documentation, and photography.
- Prepare accurate construction documents and working drawings for residential wood-frame construction and small commercial projects.
- Assist in the design and drafting of architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical building systems.
- Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction assemblies in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Support project coordination efforts between clients, consultants, contractors, and office staff.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, field observations, punch lists, and project closeout.
- Maintain and organize the firm's CAD standards, drawing templates, and detail library.
- Assist with permit applications, code research, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Produce presentation materials, renderings, and design graphics as required.
- Perform general office and project-related tasks necessary to support the successful completion of assignments.
Software Proficiency Candidates should possess working knowledge of the following software platforms: AutoCAD AutoCAD Architecture Revit SketchUp Adobe Photoshop Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint Res Check Forte or BC Calc Additional design, rendering, and project management software as required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Drafting, Construction Technology, or related field preferred. Experience preparing construction documents for residential and light commercial projects. Understanding of wood-frame construction methods and building systems. Knowledge of applicable building codes and zoning regulations. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
