Columbia, MO Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $80,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Teamwork Architecture Residential construction Revit Organizational skills Associate's degree Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Architectural Draftsman to join our growing residential construction team. This position is responsible for producing accurate construction drawings, plan revisions, design details, and permit documents for a multitude of residential single-family projects. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and clients. Key Responsibilities  Prepare architectural drawings and construction documents for residential construction projects.  Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and site plans.  Revise plans based on client requests, field conditions, and design changes.  Coordinate drawings with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants.  Assist with permit submittals and respond to municipal plan review comments.  Maintain drawing standards, document control, and project files.  Review plans for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.  Support estimating and project management teams with plan interpretation and drawing updates.  Conduct site visits as needed to verify existing conditions and gather field measurements.  Assist in the development of standard construction details and company drafting standards. Qualifications  Associate's degree or higher in Architecture, Drafting, Architectural Technology, or a related field is preferred.  2+ years of drafting experience in residential or multifamily construction is required.  Proficiency in AutoCAD or Chief Architect required.  Experience with Revit preferred.  Understanding of residential building codes, zoning requirements, and construction methods.  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.  Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications  Experience in preparing permit-ready construction documents.  Knowledge of wood-frame residential construction.  Familiarity with standard building practices and room size requirements.  Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software.
