Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to support land and site development projects from concept through completion. The role focuses on producing civil designs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that projects meet regulatory, quality, schedule, and budget requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in civil engineering design, experience with either land or site development projects, and is proficient with applications like Civil 3D.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed civil engineering designs, calculations, and construction drawings for land development and site improvement projects (grading, utilities, stormwater management, erosion control, earthwork and roadway design).Develop and modify Civil 3D models, plans, profiles, and sections; produce plan sets and construction details using AutoCAD/Civil 3D standards.
Perform stormwater management design, and prepare drainage reports and SWPPP documentation in compliance with local and state regulations.
Prepare permit applications and supporting exhibits for municipal, county, and state agencies; respond to agency review comments and negotiate permit conditions.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.3+ years of professional experience in civil/site/land development design; experience across a variety of project scales preferred.
Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D or AutoCAD.Strong knowledge of land development processes, site grading, drainage/stormwater design, utility layout, earthwork calculations, roadway geometry, erosion and sediment control, and applicable local/state codes and standards.
EIT certification or professional engineering (PE) license preferred; willingness to pursue licensure if not currently licensed.
