Job Description
Job Summary A leading nuclear energy engineering organization is hiring a Senior Civil Site Designer to support the development of a next-generation Generation III+ reactor facility. This role focuses on civil and site design, grading and drainage systems, site development, and support facility layouts within a complex 3D engineering environment. The position plays a key role in delivering site infrastructure and support facility designs for a major nuclear new-build project, with opportunities for field walkdowns and multidisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities Develop civil/site and physical layout designs within a 3D modeling environment for a new nuclear generation project. Create grading, drainage, earthwork, roadway access, underground utility, and site development design deliverables. Support the layout and design of support buildings, structures, foundations, utility routing, and site interfaces. Coordinate HVAC and piping layouts for auxiliary and support facilities in collaboration with mechanical engineering teams. Lead and coordinate integrated design model activities within a multidisciplinary environment. Mentor junior designers and support overall project execution. Participate in field walkdowns and site data collection activities as required. Qualifications 10+ years of civil/site design experience supporting industrial, power generation, or nuclear facility projects. Experience developing grading plans, drainage systems, underground utility layouts, foundations, earthwork designs, and site development drawings. Proven experience utilizing AVEVA 3D or similar 3D plant design software for complex facility layout and design. Associate's Degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related discipline; OR high school diploma with drafting coursework or equivalent technical design experience. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical design experience involving HVAC, piping, equipment arrangement, or support systems. Experience supporting nuclear new-build projects or large-scale nuclear site developments. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation. Knowledge of technical drawing production, modeling techniques, and engineering design principles. Understanding of the interaction between civil, structural, mechanical, and site systems within complex industrial facilities.
