Join a well-established Architectural firm in Shelby, NC, and bring your Technical CAD drafting skills to a team where your work matters—and gets noticed. The Role This is your opportunity to work closely with the Architect and translate that design guidance into clear, buildable documents. Create detailed Construction Documents that shape everything from community centers to commercial spaces. You won't just support the Design Team—you'll be a trusted part of the creative process. You'll document real-world conditions, assist in the Schematic Design Phase and ensure the CAD drawings are clear, correct and meet current building code. Responsibilities Develop detailed architectural drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. Revit is a plus! Create 2D construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details that facilitate smooth project execution. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and designers to translate conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings. Assist in system design and interior layout planning by producing detailed schematics and drafting plans. Incorporate feedback from redlines, consultants, and field input to refine drawings, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards. Prepare documentation for construction phases, including revisions and updates as projects evolve. Experience Minimum of (5) years proven proficiency in AutoCAD software required. Revit, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, MicroStation, or SolidWorks is a nice bonus. Intermediate experience with architectural drafting, schematic development, and construction documentation processes. Knowledge of construction practices and building codes relevant to architectural design required. Familiarity with graphic design tools and techniques for creating compelling visual presentations (preferred). Strong understanding of drafting standards and the ability to produce accurate 2D drawings from conceptual sketches or models. Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to interpret complex architectural ideas into clear technical drawings. Work well with others including Design Team and Clients; and takes pride in delivering accurate and quality drawings.
