Job Title:
Architectural Designer Job Description The Architectural Designer produces and coordinates high‑quality construction documents in Revit while contributing to the design and technical development of mid-rise projects. This role requires critical thinking beyond drafting, proactive issue spotting, and close collaboration with project managers, team leaders, and consultants. The position offers a clear path for growth, with expectations to set professional goals, take initiative, and actively work toward the next step in your architectural career. Responsibilities Produce and coordinate complete, high-quality construction document sets using Revit for mid-rise projects. Think critically about design and technical solutions rather than only drafting, providing input that improves constructability and design quality. Identify conflicts, risks, and opportunities early in the design and documentation process. Spot potential issues before they result in RFIs, redlines, or field coordination problems. Collaborate closely with project managers, team leaders, and external consultants to ensure coordinated project delivery. Make informed design and technical decisions based on project requirements, codes, and constructability. Take initiative in resolving design and coordination issues and follow through to completion. Participate in clash detection in Revit and help resolve coordination conflicts among disciplines. Contribute to the preparation and assembly of full construction document packages, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. Support a range of project types, including mid-rise hospitality, commercial, retail, multifamily, self-storage, and government-funded projects. Set clear professional development goals and actively work toward advancing to the next project professional level. Communicate effectively with team members to maintain project schedules and meet deliverable deadlines. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience as an architectural designer for Project Professional I, or 3-6 years of experience as an architectural designer for Project Professional II. Experience working on mid-rise wood construction projects. Proficiency in Revit (approximately 7/10), including modeling, documentation, and coordination. Ability to produce and assemble comprehensive construction documents. Experience performing clash detection in Revit and resolving coordination issues. Project experience in one or more of the following: mid-rise hospitality, commercial, retail, multifamily, self-storage, or government-funded projects. Strong architectural design skills with the ability to translate design intent into clear construction documents. Ability to think critically, identify conflicts and risks, and propose practical solutions. Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with project managers, team leaders, and consultants. Proficiency with Bluebeam for reviewing, marking up, and coordinating drawings. Proficiency with Adobe Suite and MS Office Suite (approximately 7/10) for presentations, documentation, and communication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background or education in architecture or a closely related field. Experience in hospitality-focused architectural design is highly beneficial. Experience with additional architectural or coordination tools beyond Revit and Bluebeam is a plus. Demonstrated initiative in setting and pursuing professional development goals. Ability to manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment. Strong attention to detail to minimize RFIs and redlines during construction. Interest in working on a variety of project types, including commercial, retail, multifamily, self-storage, and government-funded developments. Work Environment This is an in-office role with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. The position is based in a professional studio environment that emphasizes collaboration and coordination among project managers, team leaders, and consultants. Revit is the primary production tool, supported by Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, and MS Office Suite for documentation, coordination, and communication. After an initial period, there is an opportunity to transition to a hybrid work arrangement.
