Designer Mirion - 3.3 Buffalo, NY Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $75,000 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Associate of Applied Science Mechanical design GD&T Geometry ASME codes & standards Welding Algebra Productivity software Autodesk Inventor Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Designs equipment such as Electric Penetration Assemblies, Electric Conductor Seal Assemblies, Temperature Detectors, Explosive Valve Assemblies and Nuclear Service Connectors. Confers with Engineers and other drafters to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, compiles data, computes quantities and determines materials needed. Self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills (written and oral), able to operate with minimal supervision, able to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Drafts detail and assembly drawings, parts lists, wiring legends, and designs equipment, in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Reviews customer blueprints to determine requirements and consults with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts, and determine requirements of detailed working drawings. Releases drawings to Production Department and others. Confers with vendors to resolve problems and modify design as applicable. Functional implementation of Conax Nuclear's Quality Program, including review/interpretation of customer Purchase Order requirements, as well as accurate, complete and detailed transfer of information to drawings
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications: A.A.S. degree in a technical field. Three (3) years pertinent and progressive experience. Proficient use of Solidworks 3D, Autodesk including AutoCAD and Inventor, and Microsoft Office software. Knowledgeable in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Individual must be familiar with
ANSI Y14.5.
Knowledgeable in welding practices and processes. Individual must be familiar with welding symbols and welding standards per AWS. Experience with the ASME Code Section III, and / or VIII would be beneficial, but not necessary. Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical and electrical devices, design techniques, principles, involved in the production and use of precision technical drawings, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications.
